Our Commitment
NextStep Seniors is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to the widest possible audience, including older adults, people with disabilities, and anyone using assistive technologies such as screen readers, magnifiers, or keyboard-only navigation. We believe financial education should be available to everyone, regardless of ability.
What We Are Doing
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. To work toward that goal, our pages follow these practices:
- Semantic HTML structure with a single, clear heading hierarchy on every page.
- Descriptive page titles and document language attributes so screen readers announce pages correctly.
- Text alternatives (alt text) for meaningful images and descriptive labels for forms and interactive elements.
- Sufficient color contrast between text and backgrounds.
- Keyboard-accessible navigation, including arrow-key support inside interactive lessons.
- Readable font sizes and the ability to zoom without loss of content.
- Focus indicators on all interactive elements.
